12月27日上午,计算机与通信前沿技术名家讲坛第42讲在网络楼108会议室成功举办。来自澳大利亚新南威尔士大学的原进宏教授以《Random Access for machine-type communications》为题进行分享,我院80余名师生参加。
原教授提出用户活动识别信道估计算法以及用于大规模机器类型通信的有效随机访问方案,讲述了一种传输控制方案以及一种用于大规模机器类型通信中的联合用户识别和信道估计(JUICE)的近似消息传递(AMP)算法,为大家分析了在存在信道擦除的情况下用于大规模机器类型通信的编码时隙ALOHA(CSA)方案的设计。
讲座结束后大家踊跃提问,原教授耐心解答了师生们的问题,并主动与大家交流讨论。
本次名家讲坛为我院师生搭建了高水平的学术交流平台,营造出了浓厚的学术科研氛围,加强学生对前沿科技的了解。我院师生不仅领略了学术大师的风采,同时也得到了一个认识名家,学习名家的良好机会。原教授一丝不苟的科研态度以及开拓创新的科学精神深深影响了在场的每一位师生。
Jinhong Yuan received the B.E. and Ph.D. degrees in electronics engineering from the Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing, China, in 1991 and 1997, respectively. From 1997 to 1999, he was a Research Fellow with the School of Electrical Engineering, University of Sydney, Sydney, Australia. In 2000, he joined the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, where he is currently a Professor and Head of Telecommunication Group with the School. He has published two books, five book chapters, over 300 papers in telecommunications journals and conference proceedings, and 50 industrial reports. He is a co-inventor of one patent on MIMO systems and two patents on low-density-parity-check codes. He has co-authored four Best Paper Awards and one Best Poster Award, including the Best Paper Award from the IEEE International Conference on Communications, Kansas City, USA, in 2018, the Best Paper Award from IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference, Cancun, Mexico, in 2011, and the Best Paper Award from the IEEE International Symposium on Wireless Communications Systems, Trondheim, Norway, in 2007. He is an IEEE Fellow and currently serving as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications. He served as the IEEE NSW Chapter Chair of Joint Communications/Signal Processions/Ocean Engineering Chapter during 2011-2014 and served as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Communications during 2012-2017. His current research interests include error control coding and information theory, communication theory, and wireless communications.
